LotRO Crashes Under Innerspace

LotRO is installed and running multiple instances, ok. But that is when I run it without InnerSpace. I used the wizard to create a 2-character team. InnerSpace is calling the turbinelauncher.exe to start the instance. I get to the character select screen, which is when the lotroclient crashes. I do not keep the launcher open after client loads. Any suggestions for me to do would be greatly appreciated. I am using Windows 8.

Are you following the instructions in the sticky?

Other than that you can also try updating your GPU drivers @ http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Re: LotRO Crashes Under Innerspace

Graphic driver up to date. Same problem. I think that sticky is a little out of date. Either that, or I have no clue where that window you show for downloading LotRO is to be found. I think when I first downloaded LotRO that window showed up, but that was for a new install. I don't use progressive download at all. Running the turbinelauncher.exe has options for leaving the laucher open after the client runs...which would be nice if IS allowed that. But I have that turned off, which then turns off any updating while playing. Now, if there is something with the cloud they are using, I have no idea of the options it has. I can't find any settings on it.

UPDATE: That window in the sticky is the happy cloud download screen. I uninstalled happy cloud. Again, LotRO works ok by itself with multiple instances, but I can't get it running in innerspace. It's good until the character select screen, then lotro crashes.

The date on the sticky is one month old.

Then someone else who plays LotRO is going to have to answer that since I don't play the game, but for as long as the HappyCloud client has existed, people were not able to use the streaming version of it. I don't know if this is actually your problem or not though since you didn't provide the actual crash report (not that I'd be able to read it anyway).

Re: LotRO Crashes Under Innerspace

That sticky is only the original downloading of LotRO with happy cloud. I'm testing now to see if my Toshiba Qosmio and win8 may be the problem.

I'm going to install the game on a Win7 desktop now, no happy cloud. Unless happy cloud is changing a setting somewhere on lotro that we don't know about, the download options are controlled by the launcher. So I'm digging. I'll post what I find out. If I'm forced to try a new install - I'll have to do that after midnight. I have to pay for my download usage (the hazards of living in remote areas). They give me free download between midnight and 5am.

Re: LotRO Crashes Under Innerspace

UPDATE: Ok, I installed LotRO on a Windows 7 desktop. I actually copied the LotRO folder from the laptop to the desktop. Installed IS and ISBoxer and it runs great. So, at the moment, I'm thinking this is a Windows 8 issue with IS and LotRO. I sure hope I can figure this out, I hate to have to buy a new computer....the wife's gonna make me beg big time.

Re: LotRO Crashes Under Innerspace

You should really provide the crash report...

Could you tell me where to find it (default name and location)?

Isn't there a box that pops up when the game client crashes filled with text that you can copy? If not, then you can probably view the crash report in the Windows Event Viewer under Windows > Application.
