Need Advice on How You Target Same Thing......

Basically how does everyone target the same thing between all the clients. I am running 3 accounts ATM and just tested some High Sec ratting out to see how this thing will do. It was pretty hard. Even after resetting the default windows etc one was still a pixel or 2 off. But the only way I could think to target was a Fleet Broadcast. Worked good until someone killed something I was going to target and the broadcast was stuck on screen.

Can't see this covered in the wiki, else I'd link there.
1. Set up your Eve windows for client 1
2. Copy your client 1 config to clients 2..x - see http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/4582 ... ars-in-EVE
3. Sort all overviews by the icon column
4. Use broadcast to target by control-clicking in the overview
5. Kill stuff
From time to time one of my 5 clients will target a different ship, due, I think, to slight lag in updating the overview across all 5, but it's not a big issue.
If you have a target that absolutely must die next, use Fleet Target Broadcast to set the target and kill it, but using fleet broadcast all the time is too slow (I started using this method, then swapped to the above after chatting with MBers in-game).
My setup is with all clients full screen stacked on monitor 1 and a detailed video feed on monitor 2, so all client resolutions are identical.
I guess you might have some accuracy issues if your clients are different resolutions but I have no experience with that.

Some other tips, whilst I think of them (apologies if it's an egg sucking lesson):

Some other tips, whilst I think of them (apologies if it's an egg sucking lesson):
- make a private/invite only channel for all of your MB chars and drag them in, then fleet up by selecting all chars in the channel (ctrl+a), right click, Form Fleet with
- once fleeted, add your squad members to the Watch List (I do this on every client, so I can see the Watch List on whichever client I'm flying from)
- this puts the other squad members into a Watch List window, where you can monitor shields/armour/hull and they will flash red if taking damage
- use the Regroup command to get your other ships to, in effect, /follow your leader in space (although not into warp - use the Warp Squad/Wing/Fleet feature for this)
On the fleet Boss screen, right click on Fleet (even if it's an empty position) and select Regroup - if you're flying in low/null, make it easier to spot who has just entered local - click into the local list, select all (ctrl+a) and they all get the selected background, then, when someone logs/gates in, they are the obvious one
if you've got your local windows in the same place on each client, broadcast the action and they all do it, then you easily spot who has just appeared in local on whichever screen you're flying from
here, you can quickly see that a neut has just entered my otherwise blue local - I often find that my local lists get 'confused' not showing pilots with the correct colour for their standing - it's particularly bad when using multiple clients.
To refresh your local list with correct standings, left click on the channel neocom icon and re-select local. This always fixes local for me.
Ditto, in the docked guests in the station - click into Agents and/or Offices, then back to Guests and it should fix the guests list - however, this doesn't always fix it for me.
Shitty bugs that CCP have had there for 18months+ but the above helps.

Re: Need Advice on How You Target Same Thing......
with the latest expansion, CCP introduced improved options for "tagging" targets on your overview. That way, you can simply tag targets in numerical order (used to work before, but it was tedious) and sort your overview on all clients by tags. You need to activate tags in your overview settings/columns first.
I havent tried it yet, but it should work nicely when in large battles/PvE with many targets

Ah, hadn't seen that change.
The "right click / tag item / number / 1" was way too long winded to be useful.
The new shortcut for "tag item 1..9" might be very useful...

I'll be giving that a go this weekend - thanks for the heads up
