difficulty lauching EQ

Hello,

Innerspace has automatically setup a EQ no patch profile, which bypasses the launchpad and launches an EQ window if I select that profile from innerspace. However, when I use the EQ no patch default profile in a character set via the quick setup wizard, the character sets will not launch any EQ windows when selected in innerspace. No crashes, just nothing. I have had no trouble setting up character sets for WoW or EQ2.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers*

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

You should get a diagnostic for crashes (despite the lack of crashing)... http://isboxer.com/wiki/Diagnostics

If we can see anything obvious in that, then you may just need to use Launchpad, i.e. the other Default Profile. Sometimes EQ is weird and just wont work with the no-patch profile.

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

Also,

There is only the eq no patch profile available. No default profile. I just added a 2 games pointing to launchpad.exe and eqgame.exe (patchme) with the same issue. They will launch if i select the profile via innerspace, but will not launch a character set based on that profile.

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

If you can launch via the Inner Space Profiles, but not using the Character Set option, then the usual culprit is that the Characters are pointing at a different Game/Game Profile than the one you are launching directly from Inner Space.

Nothing sticks out in your diagnostics. You could try downgrading your NVidia driver. My fav to try atm is 359.06.

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

Thanks again Bob, I continue testing until it works.

I am trying to set up a team on ragefire, but isboxer is not auto-discovering the characters. So I had to manually add the characters. Maybe this might be an issue?

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

Not auto discovering the characters usually means:
  1. ISBoxer couldn't find the appropriate INI files. Not surprisingly this is because Daybreak changed some stuff in the INI files and they no longer track every character you log in.
  2. You've not logged them in previously
  3. The path to the executable is wrong, so ISBoxer could not find the INI files at all.
  4. The game you selected was not one that Inner Space auto discovered, so it is not in a default installation path (i.e. you had to Add Game to get it to show in Inner Space).
But, it is not mandatory that ISBoxer finds the Characters automatically. It doesn't find them for a lot of games, and they all work.

Re: difficulty lauching EQ

After deleting all of the games in innerspace and restarting isboxer, the characters are now auto-discovering and the character sets are launching properly. thanks for the help. I must of stuffed up the "add game" process earlier.

Thank you for your time!

:D
