IS doesn't launch EQ

I've posted my issue in the Inner Space forums as the issue I am having seems to be an Inner Space problem. However, I was told by someone to post in these forums.

So, here is my issue. I've spent the past week trying to figure out why Inner Space won't launch EQ. I've read all the posts, and I've tried all the suggestions. But, IS will not launch Everquest, (boxed config or even a single instance). Strangely WinEQ 2.0 works fine as well as launching the game without any 3rd party software.

I'm running Everquest from an external hard drive on a bootcamped MacBook Pro using windows 8. Since the game won't start I don't have a crash report. However, in the uplink report it says: I'm withholding character names:

Launching Slot 1 Character '****"
Successfully executed ' "D:\Everquest\EverQuest.exe" '
Character from Set '4-Man' not fully launched after 3 minutes. Select again to continue launching additional slots.

Could someone please help!

Re: IS doesn't launch EQ

I feel like, Windows may have pop'd up one of those permission windows it asks to run programs, but I don't see it anywhere. Could that be causing this problem?

Re: IS doesn't launch EQ

However, I was told by someone to post in these forums.

That would be me!

It should be known that I've removed the HIGHDPIAWARE from they Register and I am still having the same problem.

If you're manually editing the strings in the registry, I'm not sure the effect of the ~ at the beginning. It may or may not work better if removed.

I feel like, Windows may have pop'd up one of those permission windows it asks to run programs, but I don't see it anywhere. Could that be causing this problem?

I assume you're talking about the request to use Administrator permissions. If you have User Account Control (UAC) confiugred to "Never notify" you might need to actually right click on IS and select "Run as Administrator", because it will not pop up the notification.

Modules loaded by InnerSpace - Process ID: 19864 (D:\InnerSpace\InnerSpace.exe):

It may be significantly more helpful to get diagnostics from the program you're launching rather than InnerSpace.exe. i.e. EverQuest.exe if you're launching that, or LaunchPad.exe if you're using the new LaunchPad...

28. nvSCPAPISvr - Process ID: 828 (C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvSCPAPISvr.exe)
.
.
.
65. C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvSCPAPI.dll

Is this active? Can you try shutting down the NVIDIA stereoscopic 3D?

If none of that helps, there's a dbg.txt or dbg.log or something in your EverQuest\logs folder that could potentially point out the problem.

You can also check the Event Viewer in Windows (open up the Control Panel and type event viewer in the search box) for technical details of the crash (particularly if you're not getting any other indication that it's actually crashing). In the Event Viewer, expand "Windows Logs" and click on "Application" directly under it --- this is not the same as the "Applications and Services Logs" heading below Windows Logs. Anyway, select Application and then wait for it to show. In the top middle when it comes up, is a list of events, and you'd be looking for one with the Level column as "Error", the Date/Time from the time of launch, and the Source is likely going to be "EverQuest" or whichever program name Inner Space was trying to launch. If there is an Error then you can get me the info in the General tab and it might point something out for us.

You should also try without other EQ-related software running at the time (WinEQ 2 and your .. loader)

Re: IS doesn't launch EQ

I don't know what I did to fix it, but I do know one thing for certain. MMOLoader was preventing Inner Space from opening the sessions of EQ. I got it to work without the loader running. But, that is a problem as I want the Loader to be running as well. I used both programs seamlessly last year, granted I was running it on a PC and all the programs including EQ were installed on the C:\ Drive as a normal install. This year, I'm running Windows 8, from a bootcamped MacBook Pro. Do you know what I could do to get this to work, or do I need to ask this question on the bugs website?
