eq crashing

Hello

I have been playing eq for a while now and it was and still is running ok without isboxer.

I decided to try isboxer and the game crashes when I try to start it or the char set.

I tried to change what is launched
LaunchPad.exe : immediate crash.
EverQuest.exe : immidiate crash.
eqgame.exe : crash after entering password and clicking log in.

I am new to isboxer so if you could help I will appreciated
thanks

Re: eq crashing

This is not really my area of expertise, so someone more knowledgeable about such things may have other advice...

I would try disabling Unlocker (so it no longer appears as a module loaded by eqgame) and see if that fixes things.

Re: eq crashing

Avast 5 was known to cause issues like this. They are on 8 now

Try uninstalling Avast 5

Ummm.. Avast! 6 or later should work. Pretty much any other antivirus besides McAfee works fine..

Microsoft Security Essentials is free and works. AVG has free versions that work. Norton works.

Re: eq crashing

Every crash is potentially different, and you are getting assistance with your crash in another thread, so not much point necroing this one. Sadly, is is quite common for people to not let us know when their issue has been resolved, or what the solution was.

Usually with windowed mode-related crashes, you get a crash report box from eqgame.exe and it's when the client comes up, not upon login. The LaunchPad should also not be crashing at all

Did you reboot after uninstalling Norton?
