EQ 5 Boxing - One Client Won't Login

Four of my accounts login fine.

Pretty sure the problem is with the EQ client not ISB, but it is stopping ISB from working. If I create a shortcut to eqgame.exe and add patchme to the launch location (without using ISB) I get the same result. Just the same one account won't login.

Only thing different with the one account is that I've bought all the expansions and subscribed.


To be clear this one account logs in okay from the launcher but won't from "eqgame.exe patchme" or from ISBoxer.


Anyone up on EQ can shed any light on this please ?

Having tried all sorts of things it seems that the problem is that the game won't launch from eqgame.exe if you have bought the latest expansion. It has nothing to do with whether you are subscribed.

You have to point ISB at the launcher instead.

Logging in is a pita and takes a while. Don't click to chance accounts on the Launcher until the bottom right icon changes from 'loading' to 'login' or it bugs ISB out and won't create any more clients.

How much video ram do you have?
Can you launch the final client, without IS Boxer?

If you can launch 'x' accounts, without IS Boxer then system resources are not an issue.
If with or without IS Boxer, you're limited to 'x -1' accounts, chances are your system is the limitation.
I know if you don't have enough Video Ram, extra games won't launch; that's often the bottleneck for people who want to see how many clients their system can run.

Nah the OP is likely correct. The actual cause of the problem is unknown.

People are having trouble logging in to some of their accounts sometimes, for unknown reasons, when bypassing the patcher. The server rejects the login.

"I had a similar issue trying to get WinEQ2 working (which uses patchme). I never could get it to work. I tried off and on for a months but it never worked. I finally resolved the issue when I changed my account password. Not sure why the old password wouldn't work with patchme but that was my issue. The new password worked with both the patcher and bypassing it with patchme whereas the old password only worked from the patcher."
