running Wine and eq on linuxMint

hey guys, I havent used Linux since I used unix probably 20yrs ago, I've heard good and bad things about Wine and am curious if anyone using it has trouble running games, not just EQ (but this is basically all I used this particular pc for) and just feeling like trying a different OS for awhile.
