Hi

New to ISBoxer and just followed the setup video for everquest 2 and am getting the following error when trying to launch the game.

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

One of two things. Either a) you can install EQ2 without Steam and point Inner Space at the new install, or b) you can try adding extra parameters to your Game Profile (or try one of the "No Patch" Game Profiles if they are provided for you), as described here: http://isboxer.com/wiki/EQ2:Quick_Start_Guide#Using_Streaming_EverQuest_2_client_or_Free-to-Play. The extra parameters are specifically to work around this error message when pointing Inner Space directly at the game client instead of the EQ2 launcher.

The G: file path in the message is actually from the PC that built the EQ2 client (and the filename is from the EQ2 source code) and is not relevant to your PC

Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded the non steam version and installed that with the parameter mentioned. And I also Created a version for the game referencing the steam version (also with the parameters)

These now load successfully. Unfortunately when loaded and logged in I don't have access to my characters???? Any ideas.

I think that when you log in through Steam it might tie things to your Steam account, whereas without Steam it does not? You may not be able to multibox with the Steam-linked characters, I'm not entirely sure how that works with EQ2.

If I load the game from the non steam directory or from the steam one I have my characters available for selection. However not when I load from within ISBoxer.

Good news

The downloaded version was still pointing at the US servers not the EU ones.
