Trouble with new 64 bit game client

Hi, ANet just released a 64 bit game client (its only 25MB, shares the 20Gig game data with the 32 bit client) in order to reduce the number of crashes people are experiencing since the launch of the GW2 expansion two weeks ago. I am having trouble getting it to play nicely with Innerspace.

Basically It runs outside of Innerspace fine and the 32 bit client still works with Innerspace but when i add the 64 bit client as another game and attempt to load it through Innerspace it takes many mins to get past the launcher and doesnt load the game (I waited 10 mins). In contrast the 32 bit client gets to the launcher as fast with Innerspace as it does without and runs the game immediatly (after any required patching is complete).

Im running 64 bit windows 7 Home Premium, what should I try next?

Rgds,

N.

You could try launching it using the 64-bit version of Inner Space located in the x64 folder of the Inner Space root folder.

Inner Space applies game-specific settings/fixes/workarounds, and with the new client, Inner Space is effectively treating it as a different game. I need to know the filename of the 64-bit client in order to take care of this for you :)

(regarding MiRai's suggestion, the 32-bit version of Inner Space should have no problem launching 64-bit games, as of Inner Space build 6103 or later)

Okay, I've discovered that it is gw2-64.exe.

I've issued a new development build of Inner Space, 6106, to address this issue. To try it out, right click Inner Space and select Patcher, tick "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space to let it patch up. Let me know if that helps :)

Have spent some time testing, technically it works now in that it loads (my current setup is two instances on three systems, tested on the main system only).

The not so great news is that its still taking a long time to load and I got one crash on load (only 1 out of 20 and it was a gw2 crash).

Time to get to launcher login = t1
Time to get from login (type username/password) to game char selection screen = t2

With 32 bit, t1=3 seconds, t2 = 9 seconds +/- 1 second (two different SSDs used to load game)
with 64 bit, t1=60seconds +/- 30 seconds, t2=50seconds +/- 10 seconds.

If i get significant problems with the 32 bit launcher (has only been a minor issue thus far, one crash every other day or so) then I now have the option of a slow loading 64 bit launcher so its infinantly better than no 64 bit option!

Are you using the x64 InnerSpace to launch the x64 GW client, and x86 InnerSpace to launch x86 GW ??. Just curious as the variations might make a difference.

How can I tell what version of innerspace is being used?

The default will be the x86 (32bit) one.

The instructions in this post tell you how to set to use x64 InnerSpace. http://www.isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7091.

Have had less crashes in last two weeks however thats because I know what is likley to make the game client crash (moving around a lot).

Have tested with both 32 and 64 bit innerspace, still takes orders of maginitude longer to run the 64 bit game using innerspace (either version). We are looking at 30s total to be ingame on 2 accounts with 32 or 64 bit innerspace running the 32 bit client - compared to >10 mins (or forever) using 32 or 64 bit innerspace running the 64 bit client.

Is it possible to do something about this at some point, or am I stuck with it?

[edit] - ill try it under windows 10 later today to see if that makes a difference
