Is /follow disabled with PVP flag in CLASSIC?

i stopped multiboxing in BFA right before the pathfinder part 2 came out. i really grew tired of the /follow stopping whenever flagged for PVP. not talking about BGs, talking about world PVP.
Is /follow disabled with PVP flag in CLASSIC?
