Is no one else having issues since the patch?

I can't get ISBoxer to work properly since Tuesday. Well now I've got it to where it doesn't work at all. I kept getting boxes telling me that the Battle.net app needed to run an update and had to start my characters by slot instead of set, but everything wasn't working right so I decided to reinstall the whole thing. Now I keep getting the same update Battle.net window but the game never launches through Innerspace. What am I doing wrong? The exact message is "An updated version of World of Warcraft is available. Please launch the Battle.net app to download the update." and the game doesn't start.

Re: Is no one else having issues since the patch?

For sure nobody else has reported this issue :)

1. Do you have Battle.net running when you're launching your team? Try closing it first, and wait probably 15-30 seconds to be sure it shuts down its "agent" processes (which the game may use to communicate with the battle.net app).

2. Do you have multiple WoW installs? (Are you sure?) Launch WoW normally, then press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up Task Manager, switch to the "Details" tab and find wow.exe or wow-64.exe in the list of processes. Right click it and select "Open File Location". Inner Space should point at this same location for launching the game; you can confirm that in the Game Profile you're launching for WoW -- see http://isboxer.com/wiki/Game_Profile.

I ask because to me it sounds like you've got an older WoW install that you're launching directly, separate from your main WoW install that updates via your battle.net app.

Re: Is no one else having issues since the patch?

Well it appears that I may have messed something up and I have no idea how, but ... apparently I'm not the only person experiencing the issue and it wasn't apparently specific to ISBoxer. The forums have lots of people experiencing the same thing, it just only happened to me through ISBoxer at first .. and in the process of trying to fix it I've made it worse. It's to the point now that I can't launch the game at all. Blue has reported a fix of delete WTF and cache folders which has worked for many, not for some (i'm in the not group) and everything they've suggested beyond that has not worked either. I can't even imagine how anything I've done would have broken it this badly but I may be doing a game reinstall which I'm dreading :(

EDIT!!: Ok, so i ran the scan and repair feature that I found on the Battle.net app and it appears to have worked to fix the issue with the game not starting! Now I'm going to try ISBoxer...
EDIT2!!!: Ok .. now I feel stupid... I worked too hard trying to figure this out. It appears that the scan and repair found in the Battle.net app options menu has fixed the issue. Wish I'd thought of it sooner. I suppose sometimes just writing out your problem for all to see can help you get your bearings straight and realize that you're trying to hard.

Re: Is no one else having issues since the patch?

In the ISBoxer Chat Room we found another piece of the puzzle.

Pazgaz ran the scan and repair and this DID NOT solve the problem for him.
Manually running 32-bit wow.exe worked fine for him, however wow-64.exe gave the update message.

He confirmed that he was able to launch his team with ISBoxer by having Inner Space launch 32-bit WoW instead of 64-bit WoW, using the following process:
Code:
1. Right click on Inner Space in the system tray (notification area) and select Configuration
2. In the configuration window find the 32/64-bit settings near the bottom
3. Un-tick "Use 64-bit Inner Space", but LEAVE the option "Use same-bit game clients if possible" ticked. (This way, you'll be using 32-bit Inner Space and it will force 32-bit WoW as well)
4. Click Apply
5. Close and restart Inner Space

Return to World of Warcraft
