Battle.net Desktop Client

Battle.net Desktop Client in beta
Any idea how this will effect us if and when it goes live?
I would think it would pose log in issues...

Re: Battle.net Desktop Client

Interesting.

I would assume that they are basically just going to combine the launcher/patcher functionality and replace the old launchers. I find it unlikely that they would do away with the ability to log in directly through the client though, so it will probably not affect your multiboxing even if the "Battle.net Desktop Client" is incomaptible. I suspect it will be compatible anyway.

Can we not just continue to use the EXE of the client as we've been doing for 8+ years?

Just skip the launcher and use the direct EXE file.

The Battle.net Desktop Client is not yet supported. I will get to it soon, but until then, you can just skip using it ;)

Re: Battle.net Desktop Client

Thanks for the update. As for not using it, after it is installed I've heard a few nightmare issues for removing it, in such ways that wow and D3 have stopped launching completely lol. So i'm a bit timid to try and remove it the bnet launcher. I will be patient, I just sit my 2nd in town and get the strength in numbers buff lol.

No one is telling you to uninstall the new BNet launcher. The link I provided shows you how to bypass it.

This must be the only Battle.net Desktop Client thread that doesn't mention:
Switch to the development build of Inner Space. To do so, right click Inner Space and select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space to let it patch up
