WoW start with empty black windows :(

Hi guys,

I played for more than two weeks without one error, but since a few hours I can not start WOW anymore. If I start from ISboxer or directly from InnerSpace I get my 5 windows as always, but they are empty, black and not joinable.

I assume this could be related to the recent update to the new path of the wow.exe. I am playing with 5 Battlenet Accounts and it worked perfect before. Now I get these black windows always - no matter if I try to launch via Battle.net or directly via wow.exe by changing the path in inner space config.

I reinstalled WOW,
reinstalled ISboxer and Inner Space,
tried to use different files to start,
tried to just start two toons.

It worked after WOW Patch 8.1, but failed after InnerSpace Patch today. May it is related to that I play with 5 battle.net accounts?


... now I dont know anymore, what it could be.

Would be really nice if somebody would have at least an idea.

Black screens are usually something to do with graphics (funny that).

The things to try are.

1. backup your config-charname.wtf files in the %WOWINSTALLPATH%\_retail_\WTF folder, then delete them, and reload your team. These file will be recreated (the backup is up to you).
2. Try a new Window Layout in ISBoxer
3. If you updated your graphics driver, revert it.

Same here, starting a new window (dx 11 & 12) is fine but starting a specific character or a character set causes wow to freeze with a black window for about 5 minutes at start.

I reinstaled innerspace and isboxer with new profile and new config.wtf files, i also changed window layout different times without success.

no video fx, client build 6368, amd graphic card, didn't change my graphic driver

So i tried averything possible and i found the problem.

I had to disable Crossfire and everything works like a charm.
