Has any one tried SWTOR Unleashed with ISBoxer?

I am looking for any improvement I can get and this looks like it would help:

Not sure how it will work with ISBoxer though...

Well, not SWTOR exactly but I tried putting WoW on a RAMDisk with ImDisk a year or two ago, but it was unstable for me. I haven't tried it in a while, but there is definitely loading performance improvements to be had by already having things in RAM, and assuming the RAMDisk is stable it should be pretty good.

I would not expect general framerate improvements from doing this, as when there's nothing loading/storing at the time this is going to have zero effect on performance. But, on the other hand, when stuff is loading/storing, the difference will be significant, so this may smooth what might otherwise feel like "lag spikes". (Though if this type of spiking is a common problem in the game, it's probably something for its developers to address by deferring some of that loading/storing...)

Thanks Lax.

I am running off a pretty fast SSD so the gains are probably limited.

I tried creating a new game in ISBoxer and pointing to the SWToR Unleashed EXE but it didn't work.

Any idea how to set this up LAX?

Sure, follow the manual configuration instructions that are alongside the exe ;)

Correct you are Lax. I found the All-In-One batch file method and followed that.
Basically - install the ramdisk program, edit the All-In-One batch file for your settings and then run it to mount the ramdisk.
After that ISBoxer can be used to launch the character sets as normal.

I got lower FPS over all but much less hitching. Strange but I'll play around with it some more.
