Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

I got everything set up and functioning in TOR, had all my windows working, set up my first basic keymap, but discovered follow drops after about 10 steps of following. My second character either just stands still, or runs in place really fast. Anyone else had this issue, or found a way around it? I am game for boxing without macros, but boxing without any follow is basically impossible... I guess I could keep hitting it over and over, but that would get really tedious.

I am having the same issue. Isboxer is working great but follow keeps breaking just walking around. I think it was a lot better before release anyone got any ideas?

Fairly lengthy related thread on dual-boxing.com: http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=45968

Apparently, from what I've read, /follow may be fixed in an upcoming SWTOR update on the 19th. Hang in there :)

Is that speculation based on anything said by bioware, or just community speculation?

Re: Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

I can't confirm anything, it's from random people.

What I would do, for anyone having issues with /follow, is use the in-game support system to report the bug. (That's also the only "official" response I've seen myself is to file a report in the game.) Posting here and on dual-boxing.com (and even the official forums) only goes so far.

Re: Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

I have posted it as a bug on each my accounts (I figure I get one vote per account as to bugs of concern), and I am crossing my fingers for a fix tonight or by this weekend. They really need to fix follow (which works amazingly well for companions - though clearly the terrain jumping would be unbalanced for players). One other issue from a non-multi box perspective, the health bars in PvP seriously need to be addressed as this has been a known and reported issue since beta, complaints about UI customization aside, the party bars should at least work in PvP, that is fairly basic (I assume it has something to do with the scaling implementation in PvP, since the bars work in flashpoints where your level remains the same).

Here is to hoping for a functional follow tomorrow...

Re: Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

I key bound follow with a non standard key then set up a macro with my Razar Naga mouse- F2 (target my lead player) key you key bound. Then I bound this macro to one of my Naga buttons and have to spam it all the time >.> I put in a ticket on both of my accounts asking for the follow to be fixed as well as posted on the CS section on their website. I hope they fix it during the servers scheduled shutdown tomorrow.

Re: Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

Hopefully the implemented a "stealth fix" to follow today, no reference to follow or pvp health bars in the patch notes, both of which I know have been heavily submitted as bug reports. Bioware is really beginning to disappoint, these are basic features of an MMO that are not functioning (and follow actually worked in beta). I know there is a solution, but is is a PITA, and it is such a basic game function that is should be working. The more I delve into TOR, the more unfinished it seems. I really like portions of this game, and it has a ton of potential, but I am no longer going to patiently dole out my money to play betas for the MMO industry -- it is really getting old (unfortunately, I realize everyone has been brainwashed into thinking this is the way it must be, but that is not the case, an MMO is never "finished", but it can sure be "unfinished" when released, there is a difference)...

Re: Following not working (TOR issue not IS Boxer)

There is an extensive (8 hour) scheduled maintenance for tomorrow (04 Jan 2012). With any luck, the /follow command will be addressed in this patch. IMHO, there are a handful of slash commands that are so fundamental that a game should still be considered in 'beta' if these commands aren't fully implemented and tested. /Assist and /Follow are examples of just such commands.
