Valerian shows an example here how to do this, but frankly its over my head

Yes, it's a normal Click Bar :)

Look at the picture Valerian posted, there are 4 Click Bars at the same position as the 4 vfx windows.
Because vfx always overlay Click Bars, he has set the vfx to a lower opacity.

Re: [Request] How to enable Character names on screen using VFX?

Okay... i explain it :)
For this example my second monitor with the resolution 1024x768 shall display 4 vfx with the character names in the background.

First the usual: Create a Window Layout, a Character "dxNothing" (for more infos how to add that Character into ISBoxer go here) and 4 more Characters. Create a Character Set, add in Slot1 Character "dxNothing" and in the other 4 Slots the other 4 chars. It is important that you checked "Video FX Viewers stay when in background".

1. Create a Click Bar named "Character 1" and change "Cell border size" to 0

2. Click "Buttons" and change it like this:

3. Copy this Clickbar 3 times, change name and text accordingly and change the Starting Position of Character 2-4 like this:
Character 2: Starting Position: 513,0
Character 3: Starting Position: 0,385
Character 4: Starting Position: 513,385

4. Create a Key Map "vfx" and a Mapped Key "create vfx". Add 4 "Video FX Action" and change "Opacity" to 128. Later if you can't see enough through the overlaying vfx window you can change that value.

For the other 3 Actions change the "Position" like this:
Video FX: "is3" -> 1: Position: 513,0
Video FX: "is4" -> 1: Position: 0,385
Video FX: "is5" -> 1: Position: 513,385

5. Copy the Key Map, rename it "hide vfx" and tick in all 4 Actions the checkbox "Hide":

6. Create a Mapped Key "create clickbar" with 4 "Click Bar State Action":

7. Create a Mapped Key "hide clickbar":
Image

8. Under "Key Maps" -> "Non-combat" create a Mapped Key "toggle character names" with 2 Steps and setup a hotkey.
Step1: Add 2 "Do Mapped Key Action":
Image
Step2: Add 2 "Do Mapped Key Action":

9. Click on the Character "dxNothing" and drag the 4 Clickbars into it.

10. Save, Export and Play!

I am not at home so please don't shoot me if this isn't working as intended :)
