Trying to get more FPS

Since 1.2 my fps has been crap ive set cores i have a 4 core procc and i asigned 1 core to each character then the 5th shares 2 and 4. Also I have set all the graphics to Min and limited the slaves to 10 fps and my Main to 30 fps. i have an ATI Radeon and im wondering if this is the issue that the card just cant handle anymore or if there is anything else i can tweek to get more fps.

Primary Adapter
Graphics Card Manufacturer Powered by AMD
Graphics Chipset ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Device ID 68BE
Vendor 1002

Subsystem ID E138
Subsystem Vendor ID 174B

Graphics Bus Capability PCI Express 2.0
Maximum Bus Setting PCI Express 2.0 x16

BIOS Version 012.019.000.010
BIOS Part Number 113-C01201-V23
BIOS Date 2010/03/08

Memory Size 1024 MB
Memory Type GDDR5

Core Clock in MHz 710 MHz
Memory Clock in MHz 1160 MHz
Total Memory Bandwidth in GByte/s 74.2 GByte/s

whats happening is in combat in an instance i may drop down to 8 or so fps on the main. in the world doing rifts if their are say 5 more people my slaves hit 1 fps and im under 10 makes it almost impossible for the slaves to follow and to cast

Re: Trying to get more FPS

Have you tried stopping all the riftcrashhandler.exe processes in task manager (or whatever they're called now again)?

You could also try to lower your resolution and see if that helps.

I know this has helped others with post 1.2 slowdowns.

Re: Trying to get more FPS

I have lowered all the vid settings to low and did low quality rendering on all 5 also closed all the Rift handlers. never had this issue before the patch kinda sucks makes rifting alot harder now.

Did you try lowering the resolution for all clients as well? Set it as low as it can go and see if there's any FPS difference, just to see if it's the GPU or CPU that is taking a hit.

Re: Trying to get more FPS

Then it seems you're GPU-bound and can lower the resolution to gain FPS - try it. ;)

Personally I don't trust system CPU monitoring very much - there could be stalls because of timing that causes the CPU to block and wait for something. This causes low CPU usage but any improvements on the GPU side will still not help anything - the CPU is still the bottleneck for performance (or rather, whatever it's waiting for, which doesn't necessarily have to the GPU).
