Belkin Nostromo n52

I'm trying to get my n52 to work with ISBoxer and am stuck.

Having seen this thread... viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4357&p=19398&hilit=n52#p19398
I've put all of my n52 keys into DI mode, sending Button 01 - Button 16 like this...

but I can't see them in the Hotkey Picker dropdown in the ISBoxer Toolkit.

I rebooted after installing the n52 drivers, to make sure that wasn't the problem.

Is there something else I need to do to allow ISBoxer to 'see' the n52 keys?

I haven't used the n52 in a few years, so had to grab drivers off the Belkin site.
I run Win7-64 - the best I could find were the 3.2.4 drivers on this page... http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?rnId=478
although the software only shows v3.2.2 on the Help/About screen.

I also tested that the n52 is working - I set key 1 to send a single 'r' and that works fine, so the hardware isn't the issue, hopefully.

Really need more keys for Rift, so really hope to get this working.

I do not own one of these devices, so consider this advice generic...

Are you running that software as Administrator? Does it need to be running as Admin while you use it? See Supported Input Devices.

Re: Belkin Nostromo n52

The software pictured above is just the Belkin configuration editor "Nostromo Editor" - once I finish editing it stops running.
You can run the "Nostromo Loadout Manager", which has the capability to change Nostromo conifgurations based on what program is running, but you don't need to run that and I don't, as I have no need for that functionality.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to run as Admin?

I've run the buttontest script from... viewtopic.php?f=30&t=675
and it detects all of the n52 buttons being pressed...

but I still don't see any keys/buttons like that in the Toolkit drop down...

Re: Belkin Nostromo n52

ISBoxer filters out the generic button names "Button 1" etc. because this name would conflict with every other device with automatically-named buttons.

Here's what you need to do.

1. Close Inner Space
2. In ISBoxer's File menu select "Edit Input Devices"
3. In the editor, find your nostromo device in the drop-down at the top
4. In the list box on the left where it has all of your buttons listed e.g. "Button: Button 1", select each button and adjust the "Control Name" box that appears. I would recommend prefixing with N52 and then whatever you want to call it. N52-1, N52-2, etc are fine.
5. Click "Save"
6. Close the editor window by clicking the X

Enjoy :)

Re: Belkin Nostromo n52

Awesome support, thanks lax, that sorted it!

For anyone else searching for Belkin Nostromo n52 guidance in the future, here's where I renamed the buttons in the File / Edit Input Devices screen...

and here are the n52 buttons now appearing in the drop down list...

and I used the buttontest script to verify which button was being pressed...

Very happy :)
