Re: New card advice

Make sure you don't need other upgrades to your system that the money would be better spent on.

If you're sure you only need a video card then go here and find the card that fits your budget.

Make a personal choice about whether Nvidia or ATI is the best choice (they're both fine and everyone has their own opinion so asking won't help).

Choose, purchase, ..., profit.

Re: New card advice

How much monitors do you use?

If more than two I would suggest an AMD Card (7970 for example).
Eyefinity rocks for multiboxing!

Re: New card advice

I currently have sandy bridge i7 with a ssd drives And 16 gb of ram.my graphics card at the moment is a 2gz ati 6990 but my fps are up and down like a yo yo.
After reading that link I'm under the impression to either wait..... Or buy a nvidia 580 gtx I hate waiting I'm the most impatient man in the world computers already in the shop. so it's like getting to the finish line then ugh...wait
I use 2 monitors. Both different sizes I didn't know till just now that's the wrong thing to do. So I'll be needing a another monitor as well.

Re: New card advice

Avoid dual GPU AMD/ATI cards. The Catalyst drivers won't use the second GPU. I haven't had any issues with my dual-GPU Nvidia card (GTX-295), both GPUs work without any issues.

I'd ask in the hardware section, on www.dual-boxing.com
A lot of knowledgeable people there.

Re: New card advice

Depending what your multiboxing a GTX 580 is a good card. You might have to lower some of your graphic options in game. I always recommend a single powerful card though. I upgraded to the gtx 680 4gb classified evga card w/ max OC, from the gtx 580 3gb max OC. I have not tried to sli any games since I had my two gtx 560's and it ended horrible with me, that I like having a single powerful card.
