Texture Fill Rate:

My current system is:

Core 2 Quad Q8200(2.33GHz) 4GB DDR2
500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD

Re: What are the most important GPU specs?

I don't have the answers as far as specific GPU speeds and features, but generally you want 1GB+ of memory on it (added VRAM is only useful up to a point), fast clock speeds and high memory bandwidth. Most of the numbers they tell you are just fluff and have no meaning to the average gamer other than "faster is better"... That's why they simplify it into model numbers like an ATI 5870 is better than a 5850 but worse than a 5970.

IMHO, all you really need to do is pick a price range and find the best value in your range, that fits your motherboard, that your power supply can support, and that has the output ports you want on it. You also want it to support DirectX11.
