MIDI to HID?

I know this sounds a bit peculiar to ask, but does anyone know of a translator or custom driver that will allow MIDI protocol inputs to be converted to HID compliant data?

Here's some background on what I'm trying to do - I currently have at my desk an old Roland A-80. She works great for music, mixing, and just about anything audio, but I think it would be sweet as hell to be able to bind keys and more importantly foot pedals to game actions.

I'm a fan of unorthodox input methods (I've used MIDI inputs to control animation variables in 3DS MAX, for example) and would love to try it out in EVE online.

Re: MIDI to HID?

I've been asked about something like that before and I would actually love to see some additional standardized input devices available for use, including many devices that happen to be MIDI. Tons of switches, dials and knobs, hell yeah. /me dials in to PVP mode, sets phasers to stun...
