STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Calling all STO players -

Anyone able to successfully ISbox multiple sessions since the Delta Rising update?

I can run the game normally by itself, but when I try to launch an InnerSpace game slot, the game goes black, stays at 100% CPU, occasionally flashing up the login screen. Tried this with safe mode, no difference. I have Windows 7 with Nvidia GTX 770, driver version 344.11.

I think that STO changed their code to use more DX11 with this update and that is why it may be having issues. Anyone else see this?

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Okay this was weird. I disabled a few things and managed to get STO to go to the login screen, and it popped up a message saying it reset my video settings. After that I put everything back and it's working fine like there was never an issue.

Graphics settings are stored in GamePrefs.Pref. ISBoxer usually keeps a different copy of this per Character, so you can try resetting (e.g. delete or move) those files, which should be in Star Trek Online\Live\localdata. If you remove all of the Character-specific GamePrefs-xxxx.Pref files, it will re-copy them from the main GamePrefs.Pref file. You may need to reset that file or adjust some settings, but I don't know specifically which ones.

Here's my settings after it reset and is working, in case that might help:

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Thanks for the response, lax. I tried the following:
- remove all gameplay-xxx.pref files (player specific ones) - no difference
- remove all gameplay.pref files including default one, so new one should be generated - no difference
- remove all gameplay.pref files, then copy in your example file as gameplay-slot1.pref file - no difference
- remove all gameplay.pref files, then run STO in normal mode (works fine), set Display mode to DX9, set Graphics settings to Low/Low, then run STO as isboxer slot 1 ... no difference.

Symptoms:
- STO Launcher works fine to log in
- Then black CRYPTIC screen with progress bar loads fine and rescales to correct Window layout slot size
- Then entire window layout slot goes light blue for a couple seconds
- Then 100% CPU and 2-3 minutes between recognizing mouse clicks, keystrokes, screen updates ...

It could be something about the hardware/driver I have, or maybe my innerspace is set up differently? I will post all the usual files.

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Get me a "Diagnostics for game freezes" from ISBoxer's Help menu, from one of the busted GameClient.exe's, and maybe something will stick out in that

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Nothing obvious sticks out in the freeze dump. However, if you can try shutting down WindowMenuPlus (and any other non-essential programs), that could possibly make a difference.

Also grab me "Diagnostics for game crashes" (even though it's not crashing, yes)

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

Exited WindowMenu and other background programs, then re-ran STO as isboxer slot 1. Still same behavior.

Re: STO Delta Rising launch issues ?

A new update on Tribble (ST.45.20141019a.2) was pushed out today. (Release notes are here; they mention fixes for graphic cards in Shader 2 or DX9 mode). I tried loading this version of STO through ISboxer and it worked first time.

Interestingly I then tried loading the current Holodeck version (ST.45.20140928a.20) through ISboxer, and it's worked for a bit, then reverted to locking up again.

Sounds like if anyone else has this issue, it should be resolved finally once ST.45.20141019a is pushed out to Holodeck, hopefully next week).
