Re: Day 5 of 12 Days of ISBoxer Christmas

At Christmas Eve, the family is together at our parents house. My mother makes potato salad with sausages and we play games with the little ones. When it comes to the handing out of presents at 18:00 I go out unseen and place the bag of presents in front of the house door. I ring the bell, knock loudly and hide away. My mother takes the excited children and opens to see, what Santa Claus has brought.

My favourite tradition is, after decorating the tree, dressing the labradors up in their reindeer antlers and posing them for pictures in front of it.
All with a healthy glass, or three, of mulled wine :)

Skiing with the family is what has been one of the most recent traditions. Skiing on Christmas is great because there are usually no lines in the morning.

Eggnog and some quiet family time without any external distractions on Christmas Eve.

Re: Day 5 of 12 Days of ISBoxer Christmas

Breakfast, or more like brunch... as it takes a bit of time to get everyone to my grandparent's farm.
Home made dishes, including an omelette like dish.

After breakfast, the kids sort all the presents in the family room.
We have a roaring fire, in the massive fire place.
Everyone's dogs are all there, and excited to be there.
A bit of chaos.

Everyone has their traditional place to sit.
Presents are near each person.

Going around the room, in order from youngest to oldest.
Each person opening one gift, announcing who it is from and then showing it off.

A lot of great memories, over the years.
