AMD Radeon Crimson

Hi,

Is anyone here using AMD videocards and having problems with AMD Radeon Crimson Edition crashing World of Warcraft or any other game?
If so, did you fix it and how?

I get 0 support from the official AMD forums and i see many more people have problems.

What im using is 1 XFX R9 290 card and after installing the new drivers (which was a pain to start with), InnerSpace crashes almost all the time.
I doubt its an InnerSpace problem, as it happened right after installing these drivers. When i play the game, or sometimes it also happens when i load my 5 clients, it crashes from the login screen.
All i see in the eventvwr is: Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
What it recovers, i dont know but it turns off the ISB clients and makes it so it is as if i have 5 normal WoW windows open. Of course my pc cant handle running 5 clients simultaneously and i have to end them all with my task manager.

After this, i uninstalled the drivers with DDU (display driver uninstaller) and installed the Catalyst 15.11.1 drivers and they worked perfectly yesterday. However, today InnerSpace keeps crashing over and over again.

Re: AMD Radeon Crimson

So, for starters you will probably nee to shutdown/uninstall the following to make sure it is not caused by them
  • BitDefender
  • Raptr
  • PlaysTV
These are all hooking into the InnerSpace process looking through that paste.
Code:
153.Module 0x7FFABF9E0000-0x7FFABFA48000: C:/PROGRA~2/Raptr/ltc_fpsi64-106568.dll (Fri Dec 11 22:06:59 2015)
150.Module 0x60630000-0x606D6000: C:/Program Files/Bitdefender/Bitdefender 2015/Active Virus Control/Avc3_00331_016/avcuf64.dll (Mon Aug 31 14:33:17 2015)
169.Module 0x7FFACA850000-0x7FFACA878000: C:/Program Files (x86)/Raptr/ltc_help64-106568.dll (Fri Dec 11 22:07:38 2015)
157.Module 0x7FFAC0690000-0x7FFAC06BB000: C:/Program Files (x86)/PlaysTV/ltc_help64-107093.dll (Tue Dec 29 05:33:12 2015)

Re: AMD Radeon Crimson

Thanks Bob, deleted playstv and raptr, disabled bitdefender, I also disabled and got rid of some other software i dont need, but the problem still persists.

/edit its crashing more and more, doesnt even have to be in a game.
Im probably one of the many who got their videocard killed:

This all happened over a month ago, and a hotfix was issued almost immediately. Unless you went looking for the old, outdated drivers (which would not have been available on any official site), then there's no way you could have gotten a hold of those within the last week. Unless, of course, you installed them over a month ago when they were new and have waited this long to post here asking about it.

It is weird, and it does suck to have these problems, but you might have to:

1) Perhaps reinstall your OS and start fresh
2) Try another GPU to see if your current GPU is, in fact, damaged

Or maybe it's all a coincidence and your PSU is failing. Really, this could be happening for several reasons unrelated to drivers, but just so happened to show up at the same time.

Re: AMD Radeon Crimson

Thanks Mirai,

Had the drivers installed when they came out and had problems since, but tried my luck with AMD "support" first.
