Crash during quick setup wizard

Hi,

When i try to set up ISBoxer for D3 while using the Quick setup wizard it always crashes after i named my team and i should go to the window display setup.

it didn't happen once or twice but 20+ times after i gave up and came here.
I have no idea why it crashes since i don't get a crash report.

I use Windows 7 and open ISBoxer Suite as an administrator.
I use an GTX 670 as GPU and Intel 3570k as CPU.
Maybe it's my anti virus i have no idea, I use AVG as an anti virus.

I follow the youtube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nxcxek ... e=youtu.be but yeah i only get to the point where i can name my team and then it crashes.

Can somebody help me solve this problem please?

Re: Crash during quick setup wizard

As I mentioned in the IRC channel:

Code:
14:52  @MiRai           • Furueru: If you can enter another name and it doesn't crash, then I'd assume it's the name you're trying to use and you should let Lax know. If it crashes on every name you enter, then you should provide the crash report, again, to Lax.

14:53   Furueru         • that's the problem: it doesn't give me a crash report, and in the vid he uses: d3 quad and i want to use d3 duo (but tried other names)

14:54  @MiRai           • Anything that "crashes" in Windows provides a crash report. If it's crashing there's likely an entry in the Windows Event Viewer under Windows > Application

Without a crash report of some sort (assuming you didn't e-mail it to Lax) it's anyone's guess as to what might be the issue.

Re: Crash during quick setup wizard

I made this forum post before i asked in chat, so after your advise there i send an email to lax.

But i had these errors in the windows log:

Name of application with error: ISBoxer Toolkit.exe, version: 41.8.513.1, timestamp: 0x53724606
name of module with error: mscorwks.dll, version: 2.0.50727.5477, timestamp: 0x5265cfa2
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Erroroffset: 0x0007add6
Id of process with error: 0x%9

and:

Translation: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.5477 - Irreparable Error from Execution Engine (57EBFB66) (80131506)

I hope this is what lax needs to find what is wrong

but i sended him a little more

Sounds like you have a .NET error, so I would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling it. I don't know the exact procedure here (Lax does), but I'd probably try 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 (via Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel) and then reinstalling them with this:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=25150 (and any other Windows Updates that follow)

Different versions of .NET typically use standalone installers, but from what I've gathered on the internet is that 3.5 includes the 2.0 and 3.0 stuff as well.

Re: Crash during quick setup wizard

i have .net frameworks 4.5.1 SP 1 installed.
So i followed your advise, uninstalled it, and downloaded 3.5 SP1.
After downloading it it does nothing, so i checked a bit and saw that 3.5 (and lower) aren't compatible with Windows 7 (which i'm using).
so i reinstalled 4.5.1 SP1 and again the same error happened

But is there a special "trick" to install 3.5 on an Windows 7 PC or am i missing something?

Edit:

.NET Frameworks is installed through Windows 7 installation so i had to format my PC and reinstall windows 7 but now it works.

Ty for your help Mirai
