Boosting Vistas performance

I hope this is the right forum, if not I apologize. Could anyone give me some tips on boosting a vistas machines performance? Ive maxed out the Ram to 8 gigs, and installed a video card ( which is a couple years old now, Im putting the wife through college so Im broke ) Could anyone give me any pointers or maybe direct me to a site that would help boost software performance?

Also as a side note, to anyone that uses a Jetpack or similiar product, do you happen to know of any companies that operate on the Verizon Signal but offer a less draconian price for Data? ( I had a unlimited data contract back in the day, but I let the contract end /kicks self )
