I like to keep the Keymap: "FTL DPS Keys" as a blank default thing.
IE, no changes done to it at all.
When I make a new character set, I create a copy of that blank Keymap.
And rename it after the new character set.
Once done that, click on your newly created character set, under Character Sets in the top left pane.
In the top left pane, drag the newly created Key Map down to the bottom left pane, where it says Key Maps.
Which means you should have General, Control, FTL DPS Keys and the newly made Keymap listed.
Now (in the bottom left pane), delete the FTL DPS Keys.
Once done that, in the bottom right, go to the second tab: Key Map White/Black lists.
Pick the second option: White list - allow Key Maps ONLY if they are selected below.
Ensure you only have Control + General + The Team Specific Map Just Copied/Made.
Then go to the Control Keymap, and expand Activate Maps.
There are two steps, one to enable/turn on other Keymaps the other to disable/turn-off other Keymaps.
Click on the "1" under steps.
Copy the action for General Keymaps (I forget if On or Off is the first action), and then paste the copied action; edit this so it points to the Team Specific Map, and targets that team only.
Do the same for the Step 2, again enabling/disabling so it matches what the other Keymaps are doing in that step.
That gets you...
Control Keymaps which are always on, for all teams.
General Keymaps, which are things that apply equally to every team.
Team Specific Keymaps, which apply only to the current team... so you can have "4" do something unique for this team without messing up the normal behavior for your other teams.
