Performance problem

Hello, I have recently purchased this program after deciding to get back to multiboxing after a year. I am having a hard time setting everything up for a 5 multi class setup but im sure that will work out fine :).
My problem is however, that the fps is way lower than it should be. If I open 5 seperate wow windows and run all 5 (4 small 1 main) on my screen, I get much better fps than I would get when playing with ISBoxer on.
I have i5 proccesor, 6 gigs of ram, and a 220GT graphics card. I am getting 10-15 fps on my main screen with ISBoxer running and starting the wow apps. I also put maxpfs on background screens on 10. I put them on low graphic details etc etc. I can't find the problem :(!

Also, when I want to configure how many cores each application can use, it only states 4 cores whilst I have 5 available. How do I fix this?

Please help me run better!

Greets,

Jordy

Re: Performance problem

IS Boxer does render each wow at maximum resolution.

So if you have a large window for the main.
And several smaller windows for the slaves.

Then all of the windows are rendered at the resolution of the larger window.
And the slaves are then scaled down to their smaller size.
Which is what gets us the instant PiP switch and the extremely accurate mouse broadcasting.

You can virtualize the configuration files for each client.
In the Toolbox, at the bottom is Virtual Files.
I believe Config.WTF is there by default.
Expand characters in the top pane, then find Virtual files in the top pane.
Click on virtual files in the top pane, so its visible in the bottom left pane.
Then drag each of your toons from the top (under characters) to this left pane.

This then allows IS Boxer to virtualize the files.
You can turn down options as you like on the slaves.
Maybe having maximum view distance on the typical/initial leader for a given team.
Turn down shadows across the board, and maybe weather effects too.
I like to have spell effects to about half, so puddles of death are visible on all members.
Anyway, you can lower the settings on several toons, even with one wow install.
You could also raise the settings on a given toon, and if it was launched with IS Boxer it will remember the virtual settings.

The only place where lag is pretty horrible, generally is Dalaran.
In a city, you can turn on mouse broadcasting.
And then use it to rotate the camera, so each toon is looking at the ground and is zoomed in (scroll wheel is broadcast too).
Then turn off mouse broadcasting, and look up with the active toon.
That helps enormously.

Bottom line - IS Boxer renders each region at maximum size.
So you won't run as smooth using it as with another application.
That said, because of how it is rendered, the PiP swap and all mouse functions blow every other application away.

Not sure on the cores.
I have an i7, which has 4 physical and 4 virtual (hyperthreading) cores.
They are labeled 1-8, even if windows wants 0-7.
It is easiest to just check every box and let windows handle everything.

I've found in my case, checking 1, 3, 5, 7 (the physical cores only) and not checking 2, 4, 6, 8 (the virtual cores) results in better performance for me.

Re: Performance problem

Are you running X-Fire? Shutting that off would fix the lag.

Alternatively here's a tip from someone
Turns out you dont have to diable x-fire itself.

You can go tools > options > games and find the game you are playing. Select it and click "never detect". You can still box and have x-fire up. Only drawback is that people dont see you as in game.
