Windows 8, does it work?

Just curious, does ISBoxer work in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview?

Re: Windows 8, does it work?

I believe games launched via Inner Space will currently crash under Windows 8. I'll be working on it soon. :)

Re: Windows 8, does it work?

I tried it, I don't get a crash message, but the games don't launch (either from Innerspace directly, or the ISBoxer menu item). Only had DAoC and Rift to test it out on though. Windows 8 asked me if it wanted to find a solution, and it flagged Innerspace as an incompatible program, so you might have to deal with microsoft to get that removed once you fix it Lax.

Re: Windows 8, does it work?

If you have any alpha builds of windows 8 compatibly I'd be happy to help you find any bugs. I've been using Inner Space with DAoC and I decided not to go back to Win7 after trying Win8 and liking the interface so much. I'd say I'd be good at it, but honestly my programming experience does not include injection so I'm not sure I'd be very good at giving you an idea of where to look for a bug, but I can certainly give very good details.

If, however, you only do closed testing with people you know personally, I completely understand.

Re: Windows 8, does it work?

Nope :(

Had everything running in Windows 7. Thought I'd give Windows 8 a shot on my main PC.

Game clients (eve-online) do not launch at all.

Guess I'll have to go back to Win7 for awhile.

Also compatibility mode makes no difference.

Lax, is it possible to get an ETA on this? Would like to mess around with Windows 8 some more but I can't make that into my main system until Isboxer works with SWTOR.

It's a work in progress, I don't have a solid ETA for you. It should be soon, but that could mean anytime in the next few weeks.

Re: Windows 8, does it work?

Windows 8 is initially tested to be working with build 5558 or later of Inner Space. Build 5558 is, as of now, the development build of Inner Space. To try it out, right click IS in the system notification area, select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches" then close and restart Inner Space to let it patch up.

Let me know what problems you encounter :)
