FTL Assist Help please

I cannot get FTL Assist to work at all. I changed the key to Num 9, that key is not bound in WoW on any of my toons, to anything. I am sure there is some simple thing I am overlooking, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I don't think you can use shift with the numpad, and FTL uses a lot of shift.

Ok, I have redefined the key as both the letter i, and -, neither function either. I am at wit's end here.
