Re: Key strike memory

I confirm that. I have the same issue and it has nothing to do with EQ2 commands queuing.

Wenn I hit let say 10 times a single key and than quit hitting any key it takes 5 seconds and I can
see very keystroke send to my slaves altough I doing notinh. A different key is send to slaves after all 10 keys are send.

Here is my config:

Any help would be appriciated.

The issue is regarding how the game deals with modifiers, coupled with that you are sending Shift+Alt+2 with every press of your Num - key. In order for EQ2 to correctly process the sequence you're sending -- F2, Shift+Alt+2, then one of {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc) -- there is a required delay between the F2 with no modifiers, Shift+Alt+2 with 2 modifiers, and another key without modifiers. If you change your "Assist Target" hotkey within the game to be a single, non-modified keypress (e.g. F10, F11, F12, etc), you may see a significant improvement. This is due to a design decision within the game, which is why it is different from other games.

Lax, excellent support as always !!!!

I wasnt aware that this was caused by simple because I chosing Shift+Alt+2 for my <assist target>

Just choosing F12 for my <assist target> solved my problem !! Thanks a lot !!!
I realy tried a lot to get rid of this issue but I dont think I would have tried this unless you told me :D

Kerby, something else to keep in mind with EQ2 that will significantly cut down on keystrokes needing to be pressed/processed ---

It's perfectly fine to always click assist for each new fight/target/encounter, but EQ2 makes it even easier for boxers in that your boxed toons can basically target your main character at all times. EQ2 calls this "targeting through" the main character. So usually, I'm running the tank as my main character, while the healer and dpser are targeting me and auto-following me. The way it works is whichever mob I target, they have it targeted also by targeting "through" me. You can even watch their screens as you swap targets on your main toon. They will always show you as their main target, but they will also have the "implied" target displayed as well, which is whatever target you are targeting on your main character.

The main point of this is, if a DPS class is targeting me and casts a hostile spell, it will hit whatever mob I have targeted. Whereas if the Healer is targeting me and casts a beneficial healing spell, it will heal me. On the same token, the healer can be casting dps spells through me, then immediately switch to healing spells without having to change targets at all. It makes it a whole heckuvalot easier this way since my boxed toons aren't having to constantly switch targets. So when I’m boxing, 99% of the time I have my other characters targeting me the whole time.

I gave it a try...awesome !!!

This is what I had until saturday

Toon2,3: <target main> => <assist target> => cast hostile spell

Now I switched to:

Toon2,3: <target main> => cast hostile / beneficial spell

Works great !! Thanks !!

You don't even have to target the main each time either as in the "Toon2,3: <target main> => cast hostile / beneficial spell".

When I enter a zone to fight in I will press my variable keystroke (MiRai is awesome) to have my team target me and auto-follow me. From that point on, they will stay targeted on me for the duration of the zone. I can then just press my hostile spells or healing spells keys. So I don't have to "retarget" the main each time when fighting. Here's your streamlined command:

Toon2,3: cast hostile / beneficial spell

Now of course some mobs will occasionally cast taunt spells or spells that make you lose your target. This is rare but it easily remedied by clicking your variable keystroke again. And the same thing applies if you die or break auto-follow to move or interact with something.

Let me know if you have any ?s
