Blurry text after ISBoxer resizes windows

Been using ISBoxer fine for a while. Today I log in (to WoW) and the text looks all blurry. After some troubleshooting, I've come to think it's because ISBoxer is stretching my windows from another size instead of just changing the resolution.

Here is my capture state. You can see that it's rendering things at a different size than the window size.

Code:
---------------------------------------------------------
Session is1: Virabella and Mumen - Virabella-Kilrogg - Slot 1
Executable: D:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\_retail_\WoW.exe
Command line: "D:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\_retail_\WoW.exe"
Rendering system: Inner Space Direct3D11 Driver
Rendering on \\.\DISPLAY1, Bound to \\.\DISPLAY1
Window: 1680x720 style 160b0000. Rendering: 1589x681 - Windowed
FPS: 60.263653 (Foreground)
Mouse: 565,169
Window Layout... (Instant Swap: TRUE)
- Reset Region: 0,0,1680,720,TRUE,None,TRUE
- Foreground Region: 0,0,1680,720,TRUE,None,TRUE
---------------------------------------------------------
Session is2: Virabella and Mumen - Mumen-Kilrogg - Slot 2
Executable: D:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\_retail_\WoW.exe
Command line: "D:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\_retail_\WoW.exe"
Rendering system: Inner Space Direct3D11 Driver
Rendering on \\.\DISPLAY1, Bound to \\.\DISPLAY1
Window: 560x240 style 160b0000. Rendering: 1589x681 - Windowed
FPS: 30.346136 (Background)
Mouse: 564,168
Window Layout... (Instant Swap: TRUE)
- Reset Region: 0,0,1680,720,TRUE,None,TRUE
- Foreground Region: 0,0,1680,720,TRUE,None,TRUE
- Background Region: 0,770,560,240,TRUE,None,TRUE

My question is: How can I stop this from happening?

I've tried:
- Clearing all my settings and starting a new character set and everything from the wizard
- Different resolutions
- Two screens fullscreen
- Single screen stacked, different sizes

No matter what I do, the text is blurry and the window size is different than the render size.

Note: When I open wow normally from the blizzard launcher, I don't have this problem. Also, when the window first appears, there is no problem -- then isboxer resizes it to a new size and the problem happens.

Thanks!

Re: Blurry text after ISBoxer resizes windows

It's blurry because it's wanting to stretch 1589x681 to 1680x720.

I'm not clear on where that resolution comes from, from the information given

Is there more information I can give you to help troubleshoot why that's happening?

I have no idea where to even look next.

Either adjust it in the advanced settings of the game, or set each ISBoxer Characters' Game Profile to the DX11 profile if you would rather force it at all times.

Re: Blurry text after ISBoxer resizes windows

Apparently WoW's Direct3D 12 mode has different scaling behavior than Direct3D 11 mode, which explains this blurry text issue.

With Direct3D 11 mode, ISBoxer changes the window size, and WoW resets the game resolution to match the window.

With Direct3D 12 mode, the game is instead adhering to its configured resolution -- which is supposed to match your Window Layout. But if it does not, then you will have this blurry text issue.

I am working through this and other details to come up with solutions. In the meantime, Direct3D 11 mode should work as you've discovered. :)

Re: Blurry text after ISBoxer resizes windows

problem of the blurry text is caused by one or more windows being loaded in windowed mode and not in fullscreen. So check your WoW settings

Re: Blurry text after ISBoxer resizes windows

Inner Space build 6370 is now available as the latest development build of Inner Space. This build should correct the blurry text, and should also fix crashes (windows disappearing) and white screens people are reporting.

To try it out: Right click Inner Space, select Patcher, tick "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space. When it restarts, it should pop up the Patcher window and list files available for patching -- click "Patch these files" and wait for patching to complete. After it re-launches itself again, you should be on build 6370, and can try launching your ISBoxer team again.

Let me know :)
