Black Screen for Eve Online

I use ISBoxer for displaying my Eve client windows on a second screen, but have issues after windows 10 upgrade.

I have seen posts about similar problems, tried the remedies listed such as reverting a GPU driver etc. I've even uninstalled/reinstalled and tried to completely create new ISBoxer profiles for the game.

Running Windows 8.1 I am able to run my game on the second screen (9 clients) without any issues at all. As soon as I update to Windows 10....the game clients launch, but each window (I can see it when it first launches) goes completely black. The client windows are there, you can click on them, but they display nothing.

I have reverted to 8.1 in the past...and again it worked fine, updated to Win 10 again and the same problem comes back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: After messing around, the screens seem to reappear if I change the Intel (on board) settings on aspect ratio. But have to continually do this to make them show up.

Re: Black Screen for Eve Online

Actually the first thing I would suggest you do is check for an updated Intel graphics driver. This is a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus graphics, right? This means you have two separate GPUs with separate drivers, one being NVIDIA and the other Intel. (That's also why we see "igfx" and "nv" processes running.) As I understand from previous reads on how it works, the NVIDIA GPU renders your 3D content, and transfers it to the Intel GPU for compositing on the screen. So we do need to make sure that both drivers are in proper condition. (You can also find previous posts here about issues exactly like this solved by updating the Intel driver, not that you would have known to look :) )

If that doesn't help, you may be able to work around this by switching the game between DirectX 9 mode and DirectX 11 mode; one or the other may work correctly for you with ISBoxer.
