Very Basic Question About Keymaps

My noob understanding is that a keymap is an abstraction used to map a key (e.g., the letter 'a') in one process to a second key (e.g., the number '3') in another process. Is this correct? Does the ISBoxer implemenation of keymaps permit arbitrary keys to be mapped between two or more processes?

Thanks, in advance,

M

Re: Very Basic Question About Keymaps

A Key Map is a collection of Mapped Keys.

A Mapped Key can do whatever you want it to, within the defined set of rules. You can add many Actions (such as a Keystroke Action or a Popup Text Action) to a Mapped Key, and you can even use Steps to make a different set of Actions happen when you press the Hotkey. Many Actions let you pick the Target which says which windows (processes, as you say) will perform the Action -- this can involve one or more windows, even including a Round-robin effect.

So... if I understand your question correctly, the answer is Keystroke Action.
