Tip to the OP regarding RSI:
Buy a controller with large keys, or even a keyboard with a big space key. That way you can alternate with more ease between fingers and angles to use while pressing your hot key. With a large enough key, or even several keys near each other that are bound to the same function, you can even close your fingers and use the side of your hand to push the key(s).
Also use the execute when pressed and released feature of the key maps, to cut the pressing frequency in half.
