G15 keys

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I started messing around with innerspace and isboxer on everquest today. It's gone pretty well, but I"m having a small problem. Anytime I press one of the G keys that I have assigned in a keymap they work fine, but they also pass thorugh f1-f6 depending on the G key pressed. I deleted all the of the presets and mapped keys in the logitech game panel, and when that didn't help I tried uninstalling the logitech software. Is there any way to get innerspace to not pass these keys through when used in a keymap?

Thanks,

Re: G15 keys

Unfortunately those defaults are stored in the hardware and any time the device is reset (e.g. plugged in) it will revert to this state. To prevent this issue, run the Logitech Keyboard Profiler each time you plug it in or reboot, make sure the keys are unassigned, and then just close the Profiler.

Re: G15 keys

Thanks for the reply lax, I'll give that a shot. As long as I'm here, the only other problem I'm running into is that some times after using the ctrl-alt-1 etc keys to switch sessions the modifier keys seem to become "sticky" and act as toggles. I remember having this happen to me in EQ2 a couple years ago, and it's happening in EQ1 now. I don't have this happen when I use wineq2. Is there anything you can think of that I could be accidentally doing wrong to cause this?

Re: G15 keys

For my G15, unless I start the Profiler Software and then end-process (Ctrl-Shift-Escape > LGDCore.exe) while IS is running, it does the G1 = F1 thing.
And that is with a totally empty Profiler software.

Not a huge inconvenience.
Takes 10 seconds, once per boot up.
But until I realized I had to do this each time, it was an annoyance wondering what was not working/conflicting.

Re: G15 keys

How many actions or macro can you pack into G15 hotkeys for EQ2?

Re: G15 keys

The old style G15 has 18 keys.
The new one has 6 keys.

I'm not sure on EQ specifically.
In warcraft, you could have each send a hotkey (key combination) on a press.
And have three banks of hotkeys if you wanted M1/M2/M3.

If you were using them as hotkeys for mapped keys.
As in, not using the Profiler Software that comes with the keyboard.
You could use modifiers with each of the G-Keys.
So Alt G1, Ctrl G1, Alt + Ctrl G1, are all valid hotkeys.

You're subject to the equivalent of a Global Cool Down on each press of a key.
So things that are software side could be pretty much unlimited.
But things that are game side, might limit what you can do and when.
If you cast a spell, it might lock out other spells for a time.
If you want Toon A to follow Toon B, Toon B to follow Toon C, etc... potentially dozens of actions, all off of cooldown/GCD time, could occur on the one press of a single key.
