[RIFT] Assist keymap etc

I'm trying to understand the tutorial on how to make a char auto assist http://isboxer.com/index.php/guides/99- ... ing-macros

particularly this portion

The "Do this Mapped Key first" box lets you pick a Mapped Key to perform before the keystroke is passed. This would typically be used for auto-assist. If you would like to add auto-assist:

1. Click the < to pick a Mapped Key
2. Target should be Window:Current
3. Key Map should be Non-combat
4. Mapped Key should be FTL Assist Me

I figured out how to do this.. but it seems to add this assist to EVERY mapped key. Is this necissary?

Wouldn't it make sense to have the assist option mapped to only the first key? Say on the press of 1?

You don't need to add assist to any keys if you don't want, it's completely optional. But the general idea is that you can just whack away at a target and not worry so much about assisting. Personally, I use a specific hotkey for assist, and it's right next to my DPS spam key.

I think I figured it out. Bind a key to a macro that has assist etc in the game. seems to work better than trying to make it happen through IS. I am over complicating I think.
